About
Order

The program, which has been operating since 2005, trains interns from Southeast Asia and Africa on carefully selected farms throughout Israel as part of Israel’s support for developing countries. Designed to provide participants with practical exposure to advanced, modern agricultural methods, the program is an integral part of their agricultural studies in their home countries.

The program combines frontal instruction and theoretical studies with practical agricultural internships on farms around Israel. The internships are based on the “Learning by Doing” principle, in which participants gain valuable first-hand experience of advanced agricultural technologies and methods at an international level in different specializations. In the program, theoretical knowledge is directly connected to the implementation of modern agriculture. Graduates of the program become leading agriculturalists in countries where agriculture is largely for sustenance.

The entire program is a unique experience- participants are exposed to diverse cultures through their fellows and colleagues; they travel and become familiar with Israel and Israeli culture; in addition, they are enrolled in an intensive study program that provides them with unparalleled opportunities for professional growth. Moreover, Israeli agriculturalists have the opportunity not only to work with the participants, but also to share their extensive knowledge in their field of practice. As a result, there is an ongoing impact – when the participants return home, they are able to pass on their knowledge, enabling the development of more and more commercial agriculture in developing countries.

With the completion of the program, the participants are equipped with professional experience and knowledge that will allow them to develop and promote the agricultural sector in their countries.
