Damcho zam, Bhutan
Damcho an optimistic and enthusiastic individual, a student of B.Sc. degree in Agriculture. Training in a mushroom farm here in Israel as part of her program in Agrostudies. “My goal is to become a resource person that can help farmers and the youths taking up agriculture. I want to make sure that I can provide my community with valuable resource for any questions or problems”
Damcho shares”Agrostudies not only provides academic classes but also a lot of practical lessons and field trips which enhances our knowledge. Furthermore, agrostudies includes diverse students from different nations which helps us improve our public speaking, confidence and communication.”
As for her personal experience in the program Damcho says: “Through this program, I personally learned a lot of things, some of them includes how the Agricultural system in Israel works, the advanced technologies, the farmers use. How for example despite scarcity of water farmers still manage to grow crops at commercial level. I developed a lot of skills such as leading a group and improving my communication skills additionally my confidence to face huge crowds. I got the opportunity to interact with students from different nationality.”
Damcho shares that she take on a mission to make sure to implement the ideas and skills she acquired through this program. Moreover, she shares the she will do everything she can to share the knowledge she accumulated with the farmers and youths in her country, Bhutan.
She concludes: “Agrostudies has always been helping the students. We are provided with all the basic needs which includes the education despite the situation. As they have been in contact with the students all along. Listening to our problems and coming to with solutions, agrostudies have been there through thicks and thin with us”.
