Meet our graduate!
Muridangabo Yves Theoneste – Rwanda – Our Graduate of batch 2012-2013
Yves holding a Bachelor of science in Agronomy, Masters in Agriculture, food security and agriculture development and a Ph.D in Agroecology is a motivated and driven personality who is hungry for success.
With his return from the program Yves became the Director of Agriculture and natural Resources at Gicumbi District, Northern province of Rwanda. Soon after completion of AgroStudies training he founded a cooperative called HADASICO (hadash Agro promoters for self-employment and innovation Cooperative) that has been teaching different students at our campus and farmers around about the modern agriculture. The organization established a greenhouse for vegetable growing as demo-training farm for students and farmers. This is the first cooperative formed by students trained in Israel in 2013 (first group of Rwandan trainees) and formed from 15 founder members.
Yves shares that he implemented the skills learnt in AgroStudies through the cooperative, HADASICO, which helps different farmers, investors and institutions. The biggest projects they handled in HADASICO are:
-1st Phase of E-Muhinzi project where they have been working together with Atlantis micro finance Bank and Eclectics international from Kenya. HADASICO was asked to map different farmers countrywide, on the crops they grow, the way they grow them, size of land and etc. so that the bank can help them in getting inputs, loans and markets.
-Other project was to help Nyagatare district farmers and students on teaching them how to use technology in their farming activities, growing vegetables in dry seasons, benefits of greenhouse and so on.
They were sponsored and partners of Rwanda Governance Board, Nyagatare District, University of Rwanda college of Agriculture Animal sciences and veterinary medicine and Nyagatare campus.
In 2019, Yves started to lecture at the University of Technology and Arts in Byumba, Rwanda and by 2021 became a Marketing ambassador and customer relations at the University of South Bohemia in the Czech republic.
Nowadays, Yves is living in the Czech Republic with his family and engaging in a technological company there.
