Meet our graduate!
Odom Sum – Cambodia – Our graduate of batch 2019-2020
“Agrostudies has provided us the chance to learn how agriculture can play a big role for human lives”
Odom decided to open a business of aquatic animals after graduating from the Agrostudies program. Before he was able to open his own business, he requested permission from his faculty to start a small project which kicked his start.
To supply the local market in Cambodia, he plans to produce aquatic animals such as fish and frogs. And additionally, thinks of the future where he plans to sell the product directly to consumers.
Upon being asked why he started this business, Odom replied, “The reason for doing this is that we want to provide our customers with good quality food (healthy, nutritious, and reliable). In particular, to ensure food security in my local community.”
Currently, Odom focuses on frogs in his farm and explains that “frogs require a small volume of water while fish culture requires a large volume“.
He summarizes: “During the training in Israel I got knowledge about agricultural activities in field and how agriculture is important for food security… and moreover I got lots of experience for my life”
