Okagya Philip , 29 , Ghana - Training in dairy farming

Being the son of two farmers, Philip was drawn to the world of agriculture from an early age. At the age of 14, Philip established his first pig farm, which quickly grew from 2 pigs to 8 piglets. As a result of a disease that afflicted his farm and led to the death of three of his piglets, he decided to close the farm and pursue further education at Adidome Farm Institute.
Once he had completed his education there, he continued his studies at Kwadaso Agricultural College, “At college I was hardworking and also respectful to all the master and even my colleague because that is the only tool that my parents gave to me”.
Why Agrostudies?
“I choose Agrostudies base on my field of studies, it’s a life changing program which I know will help me improve upon the knowledge I have already acquired”
What is the big dream?
“My biggest dream in life is to have my own farm’s running and also help children and old aged people that needs help such food clothing and etc. And to put a smile on every one face that my greatest dreams.”
How is the internship in Agrostudies helps you chase your dream?
“I can boost of agrostudies because it helps me acquire full knowledge on mechanized farming in the realign of animal’s, improvement of more experience in the field of agricultural and other aspects such as beekeeping, goats and sheep realign”
How would you describe your experience on campus?
“We meet deferent kind of people from deferent country’s with deferent culture. But most thanks gos to the coordinators who help as relate with each other in my country we would sey ayikoo (Weldon ) to all the coordinators. On campus each and every one takes his studies seriously the teachers are very calm and are ever ready to assist anyone that needs help in his or her fields of studies. Students are welcome anytime we are on campus is amazing I love to be on campus.”
Philip adds:
“In fact, I wish every Ghanaian child will have such an opportunity to study with Agrostudies. So far in our staying here in Israel I filled at home all because of ALUMIT which happen to be my coordinator, she is loving, caring and so amazing she contributed much in our stay here in Israel she is a person that when you call for help she leaves everything that she’s doing and attend to you. And also, a very big thanks to all the coordinators, and to our campus manager that see to it that everything is running well on campus, we love you God bless you”.
