Meet our graduate!
Sr.Noeline Namusiitwa, 37, Uganda – Our graduate of batch 2015-2016
“I CAN DO IT,I CAN CHANGE MY SELF AND I CAN CHANGE PEOPLE’S LIVES”
“Am a religious nun belong to the institute of the Daughters of Mary Bwanda, masaka district Uganda.
I finished my diploma in poultry industry and business from Makerere University. On 2016 I opened up a farm named D.M POULTRY FARM UGANDA LIMITED. This farm has got two divisions namely -Chicken raring; Crop growing.
Chicken and poultry idea started few years back after analyzing several opportunities in this area such as,
– The targeted population that requires chicken and eggs in large quantities, – Availability of raw materials and feeds in this area, -Knowledge and skills, – Ready market, high prices and scarcity of eggs in the area motivated me to specialize in egg production. In November 2016 I stocked 2000 layers and 500 broilers and they are still doing well. and I have stocked another young bunch of 1300 layers and 700 broilers.
I work as a manager and I have 3 employees for poultry and 3 others for maize growing. The farm covers about 100 acres of land which is an opportunity for growing feeds for my birds. I use poultry little or manure to grow maize and some vegetables which minimizes the costs of production. We do everything manually. “
That one year in Agrostudies opened so many opportunities in my life, it broadened and changed my understanding, thinking, altitude and reasoning. Seeing people growing everything perfectly on a limited area was enough for me to stand on my two legs and say ” UGANDANS WE CAN” . You really inspired me, that is why am working tirelessly to improve on my production. seeing things differently now, I believe in myself, I CAN DO IT,I CAN CHANGE MY SELF AND I CAN CHANGE PEOPLE’S LIVES.”
